Surround sound has never really been about speakers. It's been about everything you have to do before you hear anything. Wires made that hard. WiFi was supposed to make it easy — and instead it swapped one kind of complexity for another.

🧠 What's underneath

splitR® is built on Auracast™ (Bluetooth® LE Audio), an open broadcast standard — which is why it isn't a walled garden and why it sips power compared to WiFi. Classic Bluetooth® could only ever do 1-to-1: one source, one speaker. Broadcast lifts that ceiling entirely.

But a standard on paper doesn't play music. Almost nothing you own today has an Auracast™ radio in it. splitR® is the part that makes the standard usable with the equipment already in your house.

Do I need WiFi for this? No. That's the point. splitR® broadcasts directly between devices, so there's no router, no network setup, and nothing to configure at a venue.

Will my current speakers work? Yes — if they have a 3.5mm aux or USB-C input, a splitR® adds the capability. They don't need to match each other or be from the same brand.

How many speakers can I add? As many as you like. Because the audio is broadcast rather than paired, extra listeners don't add latency or eat bandwidth the way extra WiFi streams do.

Will the speakers drift out of sync? No. Every receiver locks to the same broadcast, which is exactly what multi-device Bluetooth® and networked speakers struggle with.
